EGYPTIAN MAU

The Egyptian Mau bears a strong resemblance to paintings of ancient Egyptian cats. The first documented Mau belonged to a Russian princess in the 1950s, although some believe the cat really did originate in Egypt,

These active cats have the spotted tabby pattern resembling wild cats, but are fully domesticated. The Mau is the only naturally-occurring spotted domestic cat.

They come in colors such as silver, bronze, and black smoke. They are always spotted, with round, large, evenly-spaced spots.

Maus have been clocked running over 30 mph (48 kph).  Egyptian Maus are the fastest breed of domestic cat.
